Hopefully the McLarens and Mercedes can be on the pace again, seeing British drivers on the podium at Silverstone is always good. I think the crowd will make their views known when it comes to a cartain Dutchman.

I see from other threads (including what must be a contender for the funniest thread in PH history) that there’s a fair few PHers heading there for the weekend. Hope you all have a good time!

Now the important question. Sky or CH4?

Croft is not as good as Jacques.
Brundle is equal to Coulthard
Ant and Bernie are awesome.
Leigh is better than Lazenby but both are better than Jones
Ch4 will probably have Eddie fking jordan!
Given that CH4 are RB fanboys I’ll be watching on Sky.

Plus there is no way Coulthard is the equal of Brundle

Piastri for me - he's consistently putting himself in the right place for a race win, and it's only a matter of time before the stars align for him to drive past the tangled mess of a Norris/Verstappen coming together hehe

I cannot wait for this one.

I know theres rose tinted glasses with it being 'our' Grand Prix but those first Helicopter shots we get later on this week over the circuit, with the Wing over the pits, all the helicopters on the infield, Woodlands Campsite down at the bottom too and the stands and banking absolutley packed to the rafters - its special, isnt it?

I've voted Lando - I would love it to be him, but also for all the people there and all the kids watching in particular, if Lando wins it will be very special.

In reality, the field is getting very close now. He is going to need to have a perfect weekend and be mentally in it from the start. I think Mclaren is the right team to give him this though, looks how level and relfective Andreas was in that interview with Ted.

Max will be fired up and strong, both Mercs could be in there, Ferrari could do their usual trick of flitting between being one of the fastest and then deciding to self-implode.

Fingers crossed for a really strong points result for Albon too, they all deserve it.

Williams have just launched a new livery for the race - it looks brilliant.

It's made up of just over 1,000 names (guessing employees).

Thanks, PiaP. My favourite GP, if not my favourite circuit.

It would be enjoyable to see MV beaten in a race, although, to be fair, Russell, Piastri, Sainz and Hamilton did that at the Austrian GP.

Not that it'll matter to most, but why is the start time 3pm local? So +1 hour from the normal European slot. Say what you like about Bernie (Bernard not Bernadette) but at least you didn't have to double check the start times every week.

Max will receive a warm welcome from the crowd.

Sky's sound engineers may suffer from RSI by weekend's end.

What with all the microphone fader twiddling.

Coulthard?! - The Redbull Puppet.

Webber, maybe in the same ball park as Martin.

I have a gut feeling we will see a Hamilton/Russell coming together.

Podium will be Verstappen, Norris, Piastri.

Light Rain forecast this weekend, with dry and sunny saturday, just to mix things up. I've gone for a surprise Hamilton win, because it's going to happen at some point (ever the optimist) biggrin

I haven’t bothered with CH4 coverage for a few years, it’s just RB PR.

I'm always amazed that people have the ability to know what something is like despite saying they never watch it.

Copse is going to be interesting if Lando gets anywhere near Max going through it

Presumably C4 are just going to take the F1TV World Feed English commentary of Alex Jacques, Will Buxton, and David Couthard?

The latter is much better than he used to be, now he has a wider audience.

Hopefully a sprinkling of rain here and there to make tyre choice tricky/volatile.

It would be ironic if all three days were dry, something that has happened so infrequently in Britain this 'summer' rolleyes
The intro used to include a forecast iirc! smile
