I think she's mellowed a bit now and actually strings together a more interesting insight into a driver's mentality.

But is it anything like as clear / knowledgeable as Ant, Karun, Jenson, or Nico?

She adds nothing that cannot be done better than someone else.

I was sat with a younger family member on Saturday, they were fully engrossed by the sprint grid walk and the explanations/insight given.

I like her insights, good to have someone with a strong technical background on the team. Anyone know why she left AM?

Burn out - too many races in the calendar, something like 230 days away from home in that role.

That is going to be an increasing headache for the sport. Too many races and reducing pay is going to lose talent. Newey had an article in Motorsport Magazine talking about the cost cap leading to reduced salaries for engineers across the team, so other industries pay more now.

On topic, really enjoy the insight Bernie brings so AMs loss is our gain.

Do you have any suggestions as to who you believe that 'someone else' to be?

I think rd might be talking about Danica rather than Bernie.

If you are too then I apologies for butting in!

Yes it’s nuts, they need to balance the salaries against the workload, and the more senior salaries are the ones that get noticed.

Perhaps someone like Bernie might have been on £150k as a lead strategist for 230 days away from home, but Sky will pay her £10k a weekend for 10 weekends a year, while also raising her profile for things like speaking engagements. She can make the same money for half the work. Their loss is our gain.

I’d be massively surprised if £150k was on the cards for that role. Can’t be that many roles in a team on that money?
