I'll watch whatever highlights Channel 4 can scrape together at 6:30pm.

This track isn't the best for producing exciting racing, does anyone know how many races we have here before the Spanish Grand Prix moves to Madrid?

Have Silverstone finally got too greedy, or is it that there’s more tickets on sale now?

I think the events market in general has taken quite the hit this year, thanks to people needing to stretch money further, and after the pandemic cancellations that drove last year’s events.

The MD of Silverstone is blaming Red Bull’s dominance, and whilst it may well be a factor, I doubt it is the be all and end all and is just a convenient excuse for him - especially considering that Mercedes and McLaren have gone well around Silverstone in recent seasons (and in recent races).

He may (or may not) wish to turn his attention to what they are charging and what non-corporate types want. I plan to go to a GP next year - why on earth would I pay what they’re asking when I can do a European trip for not much more? I can do a few days exploring somewhere in Europe with the added benefit of a weekends racing. GA tickets are a lot cheaper on the continent, and with flights the cost they are these days I’m not even close to considering Silverstone as a viable option. Why should I?

Whilst Twitter is a hellscape he is (rightfully) getting a kicking over there.

Quite agree. I'd much rather have a long weekend for Monza, Hungary, etc.

Lets hope failure to sell out doesn't become a stick for Liberty to bang the London Street Race drum.

Formula E has been racing in London for years… and I don’t know a single person who’s been to it.

I’m sure F1 would attract more of a buzz but the Excel centre and surrounding glamorous Tower Hamlet new builds don’t make for the most prestigious setting…

The last time I was there was 2019, the prices now are taking the mick. I just had a look as a friend has always wanted to go. For two people gen admission and camping you’re looking at £1200.

I will stick with BTCC and look at attending a foreign race next year.

Barcelona is a great track to visit though, and it’s a decent circuit to drive. Never been for the f1 but have done several 24H races.

The Madrid layout looks rubbish.

That ticket is indeed still on sale.
https://www.silverstone.co.uk/events/formula-1-bri...

A quick scoot says there’s 11 grandstands available, and 16 grandstands sold out. The granstands on sale are in the £550-£650 range for three days, and GA is a shocking-to-me £349

Especially when a one day GA ticket for Monza is €100. Or 3 days is €120 (I think)

Those grandstand prices are not miles away from package deal prices to Abu Dhabi or Singapore - that include your flights and hotel for three or four days! You can have an actual holiday for the price of admission to Silverstone, especially if you add camping or parking.

Wow- You must need your head examined to pay Silverstone’s prices
