Thanks again PIAP - quick turnarounds for you with the packed calendar.
I usually a watch the Qualy and record the race for Monaco but I'm in Berlin at the weekend so will find a bar and watch the race with a few beers.
Max has this one in the bag but will be good to see what Ferrari and McLaren can do again.

Rain Man checking in with the chance of a shower on Saturday. Squirmy SC qualifying. But... dry on Sunday. So what’s the deal? Set up for wet qualifying and track position? Or set up for a fast race with little less downforce?

A good bet, if it’s dry, is on there being no safety car. It’s usually about 8/1 odds, and the marshals here are expert as using the VSC to get a trolley under a dead car, or hook up a trackside crane to it. And if it’s a really boring race, you just won a pile of cash! It’s paid out I think twice in the last decade, since they started using the VSC.

In 2021 he was on pole but crashed at the end of qually and didn't even start the race when they failed to notice a broken driveshaft. In 2022 he crashed Niki Lauda's old car on a demo run. Driving for Ferrari, he had a 4th place finish in '22 and was 6th last year. He was classified 18th for Alpha in '18, although he didn't finish that race.Pretty much the definition of a bogey track for him.
McLaren have brought some nice special edition liveries to Monaco - the Gulf Oil one from 2021 was brilliant. They've done a special Senna livery for this weekend too:

Definitely not the best of luck though, the 2021 one must have been totally gutting, but they had the option to either let him start on pole, or to change the gearbox and take a five place grid. penalty (as it was then). You can understand why they made the decision they did, even if with hindsight it was the wrong one.
