Thanks guys, and yes obviously during the race so very different context. I can’t think of any recent precedents for this (deliberately ramming a competitor in free practice).

I hope they give Stroll and CLC at least a 5 place grid drop.

Deliberate..? Seb ramming Lewis in a rage moment was deliberate. These guys today didn't intend to make contact, they were just recklessly negligent and unaware.

What an idiotic move from CLC.

As a long time Ferrari supporter, I’ve lost my patience with him. Too many mistakes and poor performances without doing stupid things like this.

On top of another mediocre season from Ferrari.

I’ve doubted whether he has that top end champion ability and this doesn’t help his case.
I suspect there will be serious fireworks in the team by this time next year.

On the subject of grid penalties, I don't think it's been mentioned that Perez is carrying a three place drop from Canada into this race.

Far to lenient, use your car intentionally as a battering ram, should be instant black flag.
^ This. No messing.
In a club meeting you’d be black flagged and banned for at least the rest of the meeting, it’s disappointing that the same enforcement doesn’t happen at the top level.

Verstappen vs Hamilton in Saudi 2021 was another that should have received a serious punishment, but it seemed the ‘show’ was more important to the FIA than protecting competitors from themselves and others.

Well Stroll and Hamilton had their meeting with the Stewards at 14:00, an hour and a quarter ago, with Leclerc and Norris due at 14:15. Still no decisions published.

Rubbish. Both were deliberate acts.

The stewards have referred it to the FIA manipulation dept to work out what penalties will make the quali show most interesting..

Perhaps stroll could start at the front on Sunday, but one lap down scratchchin

I'm on a ship so not great signal - what am I missing!? Did they do it with the intent to cause damage? What was the gain for a deliberate contact in an FP session?

Now that would be funny, marshal posts 1,2,3,4&5 all furiously waving blue flags at him on the run to the first corner. Perhaps a little dangerous that one!

They could start him at the front a lap ahead and he still wouldn't win.

I’m going with a ten place grid penalty for both Stroll and LeClerc plus points on their licence. Uncharacteristic of LeClerc but no less stupid. I’m less surprised about the Nepobaby.
So, Stroll has to start in thirtieth place?
Pity, they should make the tt start in 22nd …

McLaren had a small electrical fire in their hospitality unit, no one hurt. But not usable space, and with triple header now... a lot of repairs needed for next race.

They will then refer it to Liberty, for instructions

At minimum.
