Max Verstappen

Max is who he is and yet he hasn't worked out that despite Horner and Co building him up he isn't the best driver on the Grid by a long way. He is young and quick in a fast car and on certain circuits the best car but that is a million miles away from where Hamilton and Vettel are..
Vettel has made plenty of errors. The true measure of the RB package is where DR gets the car on Sunday, excluding DNF's ofcourse.
You will see that MV somehow eeks out something extra that DR cannot find in terms of pace, tyre preservation and audacious overtakes.

There have been quite a few comments that the Honda is seriously improved. They have used their repeated changes with TR to accelerate the versions. Some say it is more powerful than the Renault now.
Combine that with some good design packaging and maybe it will come good. I kind of hope it does.
It would certainly mean good things for next year if Ferrari, Mercedes and Redbull had competitive packages. Combine that with some good design packaging and maybe it will come good. I kind of hope it does.
Now veteran Champs Hamilton & Vettel (if he's on form) racing against the new young talents of Leclerc & Verstappen. Could be juicy.

RedBull as a team have managed to become pretty unlikable.
Constant whinging about everything, petulance when things don't go 100% their way, Max acting like a spoiled child and being allowed to do so, dreadful treatment of junior drivers and of course Helmut Marko.
It's no wonder Max Verstappen fits right into that.
They are an astonishing team in terms of performance, but deeply unlikable.
That just about sums it up...Constant whinging about everything, petulance when things don't go 100% their way, Max acting like a spoiled child and being allowed to do so, dreadful treatment of junior drivers and of course Helmut Marko.

has anyone other than Horner/ Horner regurgitators been saying this though?i can't see them challenging Ferrari/ Merc next season, in fact i wouldn't be surprised to see Renault closely battling with them for 3rd ...& who wouldn't enjoy seeing Renault beat them? just to see the faces on Horner & Marko

He'll soon be regularly fighting with Ocon in every race next year for position courtesy of the Honda engine

To be fair to Horner he complains about actuality: engines that HAVE gone pop, gearboxes that HAVE disintergrated etc etc.Constant whinging about everything, petulance when things don't go 100% their way
By contrast how many times have we heard Toto Wolf complaining about things that ALMOST happened. Brazil was no exception - Lewis's engine was ABOUT to pack up !
And yet they still breezed the WCC
Don't worry Toto, it could be worse. Try running McLaren
"We had such a horrible race today,” said Wolff. “We have the engine guys here in the back and then we have them back at base, and what I could hear – because I have about 10 channels open! – on one of the 10 channels, the meeting channel, was ‘Lewis Hamilton power unit failure imminent, it’s going to fail within the next lap’.
Same old Toto. It didn't happen, try running Red Bull where it DOES

ALL TEAMS at one time or another have mentioned things that almost happened, engines that they weren't sure would get them over the line. It's racing and you know that but keep you blinkers on eh
It will be interesting to see how quickly Max starts to fall out with and bad mouth RBR if the Honda collaboration isn't as successful as its been with Toro Rosso.....
I can see his toys coming RIGHT out of the pram and unless its competitive I think he could be off to another team by the end of next year!

Yep. I remember when they were 'the cool team'. I am quite confident that Red Bull Honda are going to deliver next season and won't be any worse off competitively than they are this year, maybe even taking a step forward.
IMO with Hamilton and Vettel becoming the elder statesmen of the drivers, we have a readymade villain in Max / Red Bull. It's going to be great for the sport.
For all the moans and complaints from Horner, the RB has scored notable successes this season. They are one of the top three teams. I seriously doubt they'll be up there next season, unfortunately. DR jumped ship for a reason and he's an insider.
I can't see Honda challenging Merc and Ferrari before the reg changes. Much will depend on what Newey comes up with but I think Honda might need some serious packaging concessions. Just like Renault does.
I like seeing MV race for the most part. His frequent crashes often adversly affect races unfortunately. I think next season will see him in exciting mid-field battles.

That is possible, and may cue a switch to the Ferrari seatI can see his toys coming RIGHT out of the pram and unless its competitive I think he could be off to another team by the end of next year!
LeClerc and Max would be pretty special
Senna got away with it in the era he was in he wouldn't get away with it now and if someone is advising Max to follow the Senna route then all he will have is a list of famous glorious victories but no WDC to look back on as his career just like Lewis's will be over before he knows it.
Use the talent as a basis for developing into a true Champion

I think Charles is a mature and talented future champion in the making and actually it would be great to see him go up against Max in two great cars.
