I suggest you look at what Zak Brown has been up to in Indycar this year if you want actual ruthlessness, RB standing by a fairly useless Perez for 3 years ain't it.

Sacking well performing drivers 2 days before the next race having told them they're in for the season because someone else has turned up with more cash, sacking an injured driver 3 days after issuing a press release saying they were supporting him fully etc.
LOL. Typical of you to be contrarian and have to come up with a "yeah but others are worse" in your blind devotion for Red Bull.

Never change, bro. hehe
I found it odd, the recent shuffling of drivers (State side) with McLaren. Wonder what the real motives are?

I think the behind the scenes situation in Red Bull is far more of a clusterfk than it looks like on the surface. Signing Perez was a zero cost move to try and add another reason for Verstappen remaining. If they need to he'll be ditched.
Oh for sure. Red Bull are utterly ruthless and will drop a driver like a hot turd when it suits them. They have previous.
Maybe the strategy is to hope Danny Ric has a sudden and dramatic turn of form, while Checko struggles, so CH can fire Checko and bring DR back…

It's true though spin

I don't think sticking by an underperorming Perez for 3 yrs is ruthless, do you?

Merc not offering Lewis the ambassadorship he wanted I'd say is more ruthless given their history. Or Ferrari dumping a high performing Sainz for Lewis. McLaren paying DR to effoff etc etc

I would saying dumping Perez at the end of this year if he finishes outside the top 4 is probably the least ruthless move any of the top teams have made recently!

Come on HE, you know Lewis wanted $200m, and it was also thought to be difficult seeing as he was going to a competitor...

https://www.essentiallysports.com/f1-news-lewis-ha...

Mind you, Toto dangled it in front of Max...

And Lewis is reportedly making that from 2 years at Ferrari..

No doubt the draw of Ferrari was strong but Merc have always been a bit quietly ruthless, like only ever giving Bottas 1yr contracts so they always had him by the short and curlies.

The previous statements aren't mutually exclusive.

Most F1 teams are ruthless, some less publicly than others.

The McLaren Indycar shenanigans don't pass my sniff-test for funny-business.

Why bicker?

(Now, everybody hug.)

I suspect people want to hope that Max and Lando will collide into T1 allowing Lewis/George to win........... Or some spicy racing at least given the recent history...

Brundle's trackside camera always makes the cars so much more interesting than the official world feed does.
I've heard them at the Goodwood FoS and always think they sound pretty good.

Really?

Every time I have seen live F1 since 2014 (I will be there tomorrow) I've come away very disappointed by just how underwhelming they sound.

Ha, yes honestly, they've got a lot complexity about them, plus as they're not ear splitting you can appreciate it a bit more.
Dont get me wrong, the V10 era (for me) is the best, those things just sound dangerous, but the V8s were just a high pitched shriek.

I suppose thats the beauty of the FoS, you can get so close to so many different types of cars, it's great to be able to compare them.
Plus excuse to share Hiedfeld taking the McLaren MP4/13 up the hill:

Good point, I have not yet heard a current F1 car at the FOS.

I'm a fan of the V12 Ferrari sound from the mid-1990s. cloud9

I agree. The V10 and V12 engines were divine, but the V8 era were just buzzsaws.

edit: Holy fk, to this day I do not know how he held it together for that run

Oh you should go, get to the Start line, youre literally only a few meters away so its superb to hear the cars do their launch.

And I'm sure you might like this then!

Totally. It's one of my favourite motorsport videos. On the verge of a massive crash all the way through - sensational. No wonder F1 were banned from setting competitive times after this.

The other seminal vid from Goodwood was Max Chiltern in the McMurtry fan car in 2022

I confess that I was one of his greatest critics during his F1 tenure and used to call him "Max 'The Wallet' Chiltern"

But my gods he nailed that. He was on an other level to the driver who put in a time the day before in the same car. I found a new respect for him

Oh, don't forget Liz Truss. She sacked KK when he was only doing what she told him to. That's much worse.

On another point, not, please, please change.

Venues usually have a number of tickets sold to declare a sell out. There's definitely still tickets available for tomorrow and Sunday
