I'm not claiming it's true... I'm just imagining that if they were talking to both of them and the discussions were positive, it would seem a no brainer to mention that fact...

Given that Lewis and Newey have both said they'd like to work together. Just give people what they want, that's the easiest way to sell an idea.
If (when?) it becomes official, I’d like to think the PH collective have willed the Ferrari super team into existence.
Then I suggest that next we put our collective mojo behind them getting a better strategy team.

The Le Mans Ferrari strategists did a very good job, maybe time for a transfer to the F1 team?

Very lenient penalties from poor driving is what won Ferrari that race. Toyota did a better job and should have won had the usual penalties been applied.

My thought as well, plus Ferrari got a bonus from BoP for the weekend.

Newey had a recent tour of the Aston Martin factory supposedly. Read into that what you will...

Looks like Aston are trying to sign him:

Adrian Newey: Aston Martin front runners to sign F1 design guru

Lawrence Stroll, the executive chairman, is confident of bringing in the Red Bull technical supremo after he was reportedly given a private tour of the team’s Silverstone factory.

Yep my thoughts too. Five second penalty for T-boning the no 8 Toyota with an impossible lunge costing them the best part of a minute to get going again. The Ferrari should have got as a minimum the same time penalty.

Does the FIA have any governance over the La mans race or is it all ACS. I mean I wouldn’t want to accuse Ferrari International Assistance of having any bias in any way.

Gutted for Toyota.

We get constant rumours saying he has already signed a deal with Ferrari, e.g. for 100 million.... apparently an open secret in the paddock... multiple people claiming to be close and in the know on the matter saying Ferrari was done deal.... yet Lawrence Stroll is confident he can get Newey to Aston Martin? So just more rumours.

In the small chance Newey does go to Aston Martin, Lawrence needs to get rid of his son and bring in a better driver if they actually want to make good use of a great car Newey could design for them.

Now reported by Autosport as well. Allegedly they asked all the Aston team staff to vacate the building so nobody would see him there.

They go to all that trouble and yet publish it on Autosport.

Exactly! They were all asked to leave the factory so they didn't know he was there, and now we all know that was why they were all asked to leave scratchchin

Seems a bit of a wooly article with nothing concrete in it, probably a bit of self publication from Stroll himself, I thought I read that Newey couldn't stand him!

Stroll does come across as the most Bond villain-y character in F1 at the moment. Although that is a role once held by Enzo Ferrari himself, so he's in good company.

Also, I just don't trust him, he is only really in F1 for himself and his son, he is the sort of bloke that I can see the only reason to get Newey on board is to inflate the value of the team, to subsequently sell,

Stroll came across as a bit of a pompous berk in DTS.

DTS parodies the base-charaters to create the pantomime. While there may be truths within it, I hold what I view on DTS in careful distrust.
