Yes but he was wearing a Paul Smith shirt at the time (unless that was to throw people off the scent).

Google shows a lot of sites reporting that figure. Not on Autosport yet.

They all quote each other. F1 sites are just circular click bait.

Would that come out of the cost capped budget ?

Each team is allowed three ‘wild card’ employees, who don’t count against the cost cap. Driver salaries also don’t count.

So if you want to poach a superstar designer or team principal from another team, you can offer them as much as you can afford. Hence the rumours of LH being on $100m a year at Ferrari, and of Newey being offered $35m by the same team.

The £105m deal (with £5m going to EJ rofl) was reported by one outlet. One outlet that has allegedly been sued more times than I've had a full english. I'll believe it when it's reported in places with a bit more credence. I mean, it seems very believable, kinda 'worst kept secret' territory what with his known desire to work with Lewis and lets face it signing off with Ferrari & Hamilton whilst still at the top of your game does seem like a logical dream-team scenario. Time will tell. One things for sure; he won't be short of compelling offers....

I think him going to Ferrari does at this stage have all the hallmarks of a VERY open secret. But the exact terms and remuneration..? Probably absolute bks/guesswork. 'Of course' it's a £100m with a 5% signing kicker for EJ, it's attributed only to rumour anyway so sod it, might as well be a fat, round £100m eh? And it can't really be disproven because the only people that actually know the terms of the deal aren't interested in discussing it publicly.

Indeed. It does seem the obvious option. But until I read it on a proper source (so, not business F1 mag) I'll assume every option is a possibility including Williams. Which would be nice.

For me, I base it mostly on the smirks in interviews and race day presenters discussing where he might end up. There's always one person smirking slightly, or looking coy, whilst whoever else is having a discussion about what he 'might' do. Most likely because they know full well the discussion is actually pointless and everyone involved would bet their house on the Ferrari deal already being done.

I can understand a normal person finishing one job and starting another soon after as they want to keep the direct debits serviced.
Maybe he doesn't want any unexplained gaps on his cv lol.
It all sounds like slow news week stuff to me.
