Some would say it couldn't get better.
“Worse” is rather subjective, given that an afternoon of intermittent rain can produce a brilliantly fantastic race!

Can they make the F1 show any worse? I suppose last year with the space hoppers edged it.

I've turned it off, just venting biggrin.

Hmmm…. Maybe I won’t go over to watch the Reds after all

First time I’ll have missed them for years

Well... They can all ps off can't they. Also you get minus PH points for posting a DM article wink

I appreciate that the scale of the show and music has escalated over the years, but it's been headed that way for the last couple of decades. More than enough time for those that live nearby to find pastures new if it bothers them - and in truth most of those complaining probably moved into the area within the timeframe of the British GP at Silverstone being an obviously large and disruptive event.

It's like the people that buy cheap houses on a flight path and then petition about the noise...

Anyone that has so little going on in their lives that they can get riled up by a 4 day event once a year AND also has the time to talk to the DM about it, are not unhappy because of Silverstone, they're just generally unhappy with their small and crap life. That's why they have ended up intolerant of others having fun!

biglaugh That puts me in a minus points situation straightaway, I did have reservations tbh. as it's DM.
I just don't get the need to turn it in to a music festival and then not control the associated noise, seems like they've forgotten all the problems of the past, some comments allegedly were from long standing residents but they're urinating in the wind anyway as nowt will come of their complaints.

Love that he's an 'F1 model maker' - so complaining about the thing that drives his livelihood.... DM special definitely....

The problem is, these days, they will red flag the thing if there is any persistent rain.

"It's disgraceful" says the bloke photographed at the end of his weed riddled dump of a front garden.

Or the lady that is beside herself because her shop, her business, has so many customers that a queue forms out the door. No business owner would want that...

Looking kind of on/off rain likely, or at least not constant heavy rain. It could be just the sort of weather to ensure half the grid is on the wrong tyre...

TBF I love this circuit so I'm equally happy if it stays dry and they just have a typical race smile

I’m in the same camp. Silverstone is a great F1 circuit, wet or dry.

Normally this is the weekend when I try to watch all the practice and support races. Unfortunately this year I’ll struggle to even watch the race live because of other things going on.

Best weather for Silverstone is windy, warm and wet/dry on/off. Track getting just too wet for drys then drying off within a handful of laps.

It looks like they're getting the wet and windy part of that this weekend, but not the warm part.
