We’re in Barcelona, a fast, downforce heavy track that should suit the RB20 down to the ground. Max won by 25 seconds last year, and it will be interesting to see how close McLaren and Ferrari get this time.
Mercedes has said lots of positive things about its new front wing, it will be a proper test in Spain. Perez needs a non-disastrous weekend.
Poll is for the win.

I think this is probably the most tedious "race track" thats in the calendar, and one, even when im hooked on the season, I choose not to watch. I'll be in Ibiza for this anyway!
Can see a Sainz win on the cards, although not from Pole Position!
Max to qualify P1 but have some form of issue/problem to knock him back a peg or 2.
Perez to fluff it and George to beat Lewis in the final classification.
Id prefer Lando to win, but cant see it!
Cheers for the thread!

Cheers as ever PIAP.
Max for a comfortable weekend and agreed on above about it being a boring circuit. Used to time a cheeky Lloret de Mar week with the race (and pre-season testing when it was here) but don't bother these days.
Predictions ...
Max for the win with Charles then Lando.
Perez an anonymous sixth and Sainz to be thwarted by a Ferrari strategy blunder.
Sargeant to balls it up in his last ever F1 race as well.

As others have said I think Verstappen is going to be very hard to beat here but how close the others can get will be an interesting harbinger for the rest of the season.
I think the most interesting team to watch is Mercedes because I really have no idea whether they've really improved their car as dramatically as the last couple of races imply, or the circuits just happened to suit them. I could see them either right up in the fight for second (or evne the lead if Redbull drop the ball) or in no-mans land again between the Mclaren/Ferrari fight for second and Aston in 5th.

This might be the race that tells us whether Red Bull have, through whatever means, lost the enormity of their previous advantage. I suspect the real test will be Silverstone, though.
I think you're right, Silverstone will be the real test but this could also be interesting. Probably find Max disappears into the distance again before cruising.Fortunately Barcelona tends to be a bit of a dull race, and the track is likely to suit the Red Bull. I'm not unhappy that I'll be missing this race - if all goes to plan I should be driving through the Dolomites (having been up the Grosglockner, and on my way to the Stelvio).
I hope the weather forecast is wrong - it's showing rain and snow.

17:00 race for me, which is a good time, allows for most of the day to be spent doing things around the house (or watching all the support races!) before sitting down with a beer for the main event and not getting shouted at by the missus.
As for the race itself, it should be a good indicator of the relative performance of the cars after all the upgrades, let’s hope there’s still four teams that can possibly win, and we don’t see MV running into the distance a second a lap faster than everyone else.

I'm going to miss it I'm afraid. A granddaughter has a birthday party. I'm not particularly bothered as I don't like the track.
Also my granddaughter's birthday party! All good though, that's in the afternoon, we'll be watching the race at 9pm here Gassing Station | Formula 1 | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
