Brandon is no longer a TVR Dealer. There was always a tenuous connection to the Eastern / Western Group and their site is now Western Mitsubishi according to the signage. I passed it last week and there were a few TVRs lying around, which I imagine will be sale cars as they are not doing service or repair to TVRs. May be worth a call (0131 653 6333) although how good or what the warranty situation may be is anybodys guess.

No need to worry about Brandon aka Western Mitsubishi going bust. I believe that Western have all / most of the shareholding in Brandon, and they are probably one of Scotlands most successful groups with agencies for BMW, Merc, Merc Trucks, Saab, Mitsubishi, VW, Citroen, Lexus, and are slowly moving into N E England with VW, Merc and Saab.
The new dealer in Scotland (one dealer!) is Logik TVR at the Halbeath junction on the M90 near Dunfermline.
Brandon, when I spoke to them, said they were still doing servicing etc. I had thought that they were 100% part of Eastern Western. When I called the Brandon number they answered Western Mitsubishi. Or Eastern Mitsubishi ??

yes they do have some used stock (not as many as Brandon's had, but then they haven't been going that long)
Last time I looked they had a fairly cheap (less than £20k) Griff for sale - looked a bit tatty though.

I would find this hard to believe given that their best Mechanic went to Logik & the rest were laid off (AFAIK). Also, the main reson that you would get your car serviced at Brandon was to keep the full TVR service history, which would no longer apply as they are no longer an official dealer.

I think you will find from earlier posts that their best mechanic was NOELV8 who went on his own and a guy he trained was the only one taken by logik. The story I got (from a man who would know) was that they got hit by 11 Tuscan engine rebuilds in a short period, had to supply most of their secondhand stock as courtesy cars while all this went on, which of course also
developed problems requiring fixing. It all devalued and created expense for the secondhand cars, which of course could not be sold while on loan. TVR apparently would not contribute to any of the substantial losses incurred while all this went on, and it coincided with the renewal of the dealership agreement, so Brandon told them to poke it. No doubt there is another side to this tale, but the Western Group are not the type to continue with what I think they would see as a "Hobby Franchise". I think it is a pity because Brandon did make a lot of effort to push TVR originally, but latterly I think became disillusioned with the Tuscan engine issue and its financial impact on their business. This, of course, could be a load of cr@p but it rang true with what I had seen over a few visits to Brandon.

I think that they were getting hit hard by Tuscan warranty issues (the factory pays far less than the going hourly rate for mechanics) They had also started importing Porsches from Germany, which is a pretty easy way of making money, given that they just sold the cars & pointed the customers at Glenvarigills for any servicing & warranty issues. I think the step was then easy to make - they didn't have to tie up as much of their assets in stocking TVRs (which I believe the factory make you do a certain amount, if you are a dealer)

This is the exact story I heard from two independant sources (one of them owner of a large dealership in Edinburgh).
