As in title really,
pie in the sky at minute but with the big audi s8 being fairly reasonable to buy now thought the engine would be ideal to put into something small and nimble. Plus points being - reasonably light weight, small dimensions for a v8, v8 noise, 360hp etc... Could also use a6 diesel box for mid mounted vehicles.

So what would you put it in ??
Thinking retro/older cars with modern v8 power.
£10k budget ??

Cheers, Lew

I think someone managed to put one into a Lotus Esprit.

The S8 is a great engine but can feel a bit lazy at times, the RS6 version with twin turbos is much more compelling.

I hope you're not thinking of chopping up a perfectly good s8? Especially when you get one from a breakers anyway.

The only thing which springs to mind is an Ultima but not for 10k. scratchchin

I'm sure I could manage to shoehorn it into the back of my Elise.

Otherwise, maybe an MX5?

Older cars, you would have to spend a lot of money uprating other things to deal with the extra power.

Love the esprit conversions !

Elise would be good biggrin Saw this on PH http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... and thought with a different engine could be a monster !!
Not sure how the gearbox layout would work though ??

Seen a couple of ultima's running this setup but sadly out of my price range frown

Turbo version would be great but again cost may be the downfall.

That's possibly the scariest piece of kit I've ever seen, he can't even keep it pointing in a straight line on the tarmac straight! Inbred or not (and judging from the mullet, he definitely is), he deserves respect.

+1 Either has plums of steel or no brain. Judging by the mullet, I would say the latter.

Inbred or hero, not sure. Probably both! No helmet, no belt and a pair of flop flops. Looks like bl@@dy good fun though!
