Recently I was involved in an accident which has resulted in my car being a CatD write off. I was offered 1700 and the car (valued at 300) as a settlement which I accepted as it was more than enough to cover the cost of replacing the car.

I now have a Berlingo to sell, I know it would possibly break for spares at more than the value but I already have 3 cars at home with one filling my Garage for winter and the only other space being SWMBOs Grandmothers drive which is less than Ideal, especially if the parts took more than a few days to strip and sell (which with me they would).

So am I better off ringing some salvage places, sticking it on ebay, or something else? I am not hugely bothered about getting the best possible price for it just a fair price quickly as it is being stored by the body shop that recovered it at the minute. Any suggestions?

I would be tempted to remove all of the easily eBayable interior parts, mirrors, electrics, fittings etc and then weigh the rest in. Unless you've got a lock-up or similar then the oily bits might be too much of a PITA.

Was tempted to break it to learn taking a car apart, just a lack of space means I can't really have it sat around for the months it will take me. If it was towable/drivable it would be easier but it needs a flat bed, I just know there is more useful life in the car or bits than there would be scrap value.

Thinking that is the way to go, just need to find out how long I can have it stored.

Quick 3 day auction... Not like it stands you any money, is it? hehe

Bought for £1,000 in October 2010 at 37,700 miles. Sold for £2,000 at 39,200 miles.
Written off by a careless driver.

Hence the reason I would have kept it to play with if I had space wink

To be honest I just have no clue how to get rid of a broken car, and its going to be wednesday at least before I can make any phone calls.
