Hi guys looking for a little help, After a lengthly argument with the insurnace company to reclass our vehicle from a Cat C to repairable, (5 weeks later and a helpful web link to a rally car in Latvia they saw sence).

I'm now starting to rearrange the interior of the car starting with the airbag in the passenger side dash, I have it out but i'm left with a great big storage space.

Does anyone know if their is a aftermarket replacement pannel or does anyone know what race teams/cars use to fill this gap. Flocking in an option but really need to find a pannel to fill this gap.
It's a Ford Focus ST170 (mk1 Focus)
Many thanks guys. and all the best.

Judging by the photos in this auction:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ford-Focus-98-04-PASSENGERS-...

it looks like the airbag part can be removed from the panel.

Here's an auction for just the panel - although I think from the Mk2 rather than the Mk1.

An Airbag is only £25 second hand. Get up to the scrapyard, get them to take the detonator off one, they'll flog it to you then, and then you can take it home, strip all the stuff off the back of it, and glue the panel in place.

Thank you guys, I wasn't sure if that pannel came seperate, as the repair garage took out the deployed airbag and I asked them not to replace it, (I never had a air bag in the steering wheel and seats and light was on but it still went off and took out the heated window that I had put in as the Air cons out as well).

Thank you again guys, I have added that ebay site, but I will also have a look around the scrap yards, (simpson salvage may get a visit in the new year)

Surely there's a low spec focus that came with just the blanking panel or a pocket there instead of the passenger airbag?

I had a Focus LX last year as a runner, it had like a storage tray thing where the passenger side airbag should have been, I'm sure that would suffice into filling the gap where the missing airbag should be

Either that or refit one from a scrap car

The to be fair the car is no longer road spec as I'm getting the inside ready now with roll cage, harness's intercom ect. suspension, fly wheel/clutch, exhaust side of things are done, when the power increases the brakes will be fettled with for Alcon products, a gripper diff or Tran X gear set and diff, not sure about that area yet???

Power I would love to put in a Duratec 2.3 but thats going to be a BIG headache so a dry sump, Throttle bodies, cam and a flow will be the right direction to go in maybe an incress in pistion size and that will justa about do it.
