I was just having a conversation with someone about electric cars. He asked how they were heated. I don't actually know the answer to this! I assume that the most logical way would be some form of electrical heating but surely this would seriously reduce the operating range?

How is it done? confused

Yes, they use an electric heater. That's the problem with using a 90ish% efficient drivetrain - there isn't enough waste heat to heat the cabin. All the heat is thrown away at the power station instead.

In short, they aren't- look closely and you'll see them driving the things wearing sodding great thermal coats with the hoods done right up (great for peripheral vision rolleyes )

I assume you really don't like motorcyclists or people with windscreenless cars that wear full-face helmets then. hehe

I've seen a couple piloting those things wearing those kenny type parka things with a "tunnel" at the front.
