All you need is 13kg Calor gas bottle
Long Length of hose
and a Roofing torch
Hey presto the mans way melt the ice to shift the escort out my way!!!

Beauty about salt though is unless the temperature drops below about -6 degrees C, the saline water won't freeze!

It's a red bottle - indicating propane.
C3's boil (vapourise) down to (about) -20 degC....hence intrepid campers use propane this time of year.

Fine at slow speed, but for the real job - ie. clearing a snowed-up motorway fast enough to drive down it at normal speed - there's no substitute for a nuclear reactor.

i think the jet engines mounted on the trucks they use at santa pod should be used, it will melt all the snow and ice and blast it all of the road to refreeze harmlessly on the verge. might cause a few potholes on badly maintained roads though. They should use them at airports though without a doubt!
