It just looked weird! The last time I used a key in a car door, Fiat Panda 1000 S, was when I was about 18 years old.
Things have certainly moved on.

biggrin

Posh bd.

I've got a key lock on my MX5.. I've got a central locking kit in the garage but no idea how to fit it!

My C2 had remote locking, was difficult not having it.

Wow, are you like 19?

My 1997 & 2002 car I open the doors with a key, the 2002 petrol filler is key as well.

Yeah, same here. Remote key for my van is long gone. Key in the door for me.

I don't think anything of it tbh, you'll get me paranoid now... biggrin

The battery has run out on my fob, so I have to use the key.

I hadn't realised it would get so much attention. Oh, I feel like such an idiot now!

Sadly my A8 managed to de-synchronise with the keyfob whilst I was on holiday so back on keys myself. It does say how to reset it in the handbook, if I could find it!

Annoyingly my 2001 Golf S only has central locking, not remote central
locking, plenty of not so old cars don't have it, and plenty of older cars, like my mates Volvo 850 T5 from like 1994 does
have it. Was annoying why my locks froze up the other day.

I'm so poor I had to open my house door with the key when I got home from work.

I am also glad I was sitting down when I opened this thread.

Same for me with the E46, and £130 for what amounts to a new battery seems such a rip-off.

The Elise locks are key operated as well, each door separately at that! though I very rarely lock it as it seems a bit pointless.

Is this really worthy of a thread? fwiw my MINI cooper driver door central locking actuator is broke so I use the key for that. Boot and passenger door still work fine. Should I write to a news paper?

I suffer this pain every day.

I miss the days of my Meg R26 with keyless entry, keyless start. I'd forgotten what a key(card) even looked like....

Nothing unusual there

Porker has to be unlocked that way after about a week as it goes into a deeper sleep to save battery and the plibber no longer responds.
