New owner , previous owner V5 how long to wait

I sold my last car 4 weeks ago and today I received a reminder from the DVLA for the tax due the end of December. The car was sold to a dealer so I was given the 'sold to dealer' part of the V5 back from the dealer which I sent off the next day to the DVLA.

On the same day I bought my current car privately. I was given the green 'new owner' part of the V5 but as yet 4 weeks later I haven't had a new V5 from the Dvla for my new car.

How long does it usually take? I dont remember it taking this long the last time I bought / sold a car.

Reply to the tax reminder, telling them you sold it, who to, and when.

Wait another couple of weeks for your V5 before enquiring with the DVLA. Although you may want to confirm with the seller when they sent it.
