As title - have you ever had the windscreen freeze up whilst driving?

Say you cleared the screen perfectly, set off and then it froze again on the move.

In particular I am thinking a 15-20minute journey of mixed roads not exceeding 60mph (on a nice day), tempertaure around -3'c

When it's that cold, I tend to let the car heat up fully before setting off. I have had situations where the temperature has dropped very quickly, to less than -15, and the screen has frozen. In that situation it's a case of, hazards on, pull over, use the urea solution I carry in theses conditions, try again.

Yes, mine does this as the heater does not work.

Best way I have found to stop this happening is to clear the (entire) screen using a scraper, then spray the inside and outside of the screen with de-icer. Polish this with a microfibre and rub off with a couple of paper towels. Job done, takes 5 minutes.

tend to get in car, start engine, put on blowers to side windows and flick on the heated rear and front screens

if cold outside, tend to use the heater a lot, so it never freezes

Nope, I have a button on the dash that heats the windscreen.

Either make sure the car is warm before setting off, or if that takes too long in this weather, plan for a stop say a few minutes down the road to scrape off any extra ice that has formed.

I assume you mean the outside of the screen. Mine was wet the other day and as soon I started moving I could see crystals starting to form.

When I lived in the States there were a few occasions when my breath froze onto the inside of the screen. Fun times
