My girlfriend's daughter is on her way up to her dad's for the week and is currently stuck in stationary traffic due to high winds, lots of snow and a jackknifed lorry between J26 and J27 ish.

Obviously she's a little concerned about her 6 year old and we're not going to bed till she's happy everything is ok.

I dont suppose anyone knows where I can find any updates as to an ETA of when it might start moving again?

I can find lots of reports that it's stationary and why, as well as static pics of the stationary traffic, but google isnt giving me any ideas about what's going to happen ongoing...

Ideas would be very welcome boys and girls...

This site seems to indicate about 4am for normal traffic conditions

Nothing beyond the usual travel site suspects (find local travel info, local radio websites such as WISH FM & hope they give a toss and so on).

The pic (and reference to Gathurst) is J26 - J27 country & it would seem that it's a bit snowy, so may take time to clear up.

On the TV this morning they said that a second jack-knifed lorry on the M6 made the situation what it was just as they were clearing the first and had only one lane open.

Make sure you all have supplies in your boot, if you insist on going out. I have rugs, shovel, food, drink, lots of bits really!
