Stumbled accross this:

http://www.mycarforum.com/index.php?showtopic=3186...

Now these people obviously have some knowledge, they are talking about the polarity of the magnet, not bending fuel lines etc but I just cannot understand why anyone with the inteligence of an amiba would buy a fking magnet to clip onto the fuel line???

confused

Seriously what the fk are these people thinking, why on earth would you buy these and spend your time fitting them confused

The truth and the rubbish spouted about them are poles apart.

Not my field so I cannot comment.

Actually, does Reddex actually work, apart from having a prank on your mate. Or Slick 50?

Its true that some intelligent and sensible people seem to believe that they work - the late Peter Brock for example was convinced enough to invest a lot of his own time and money into them.

Personally I just can't see why.

What about Castrol Magnetic as well? I bet that doesn't work so much better than normal oil.

It probably works less well again, if all the oil in the engine is drawn toward the magnet on the fuel pipe...

As I understand it it's supposed to work using the diamagnetic properties of the fuel. To have any real effect though would require a high powered electromagnet. With enough power you can levitate a frog.
