Hi all,

I bought a car from an auction and am quite pleased. I now need to register it. I have the v5, which has section 9 removed (i'm led to believe this is normal when the car was passed to the dealer/auction house?). I have completed section 6, the new keeper bit and signed my bit of section 8 (the declaration). the only snag is i don't have a registered keeper sig. Should I just leave that bit blank and send it on to the DVLA

Thanks for any advice!

YOU will be the new registered keeper.

DVLA are not interested in the last one (as they already know who it was) and it is not proof of ownership anyway.

The fact that previous keeper did not sign is not your problem. Just send it off and wait for your shiny new V5C and enjoy your new plaything. ;-)

Oh come on, just sign it yourself with a squiggle. Do you really think they will chase up the previous owner to compare the signatures? smile
