Looks like news of open season hasn't struck Watford and the surrounding areas.

I had a wonderful day today in the 5, cracking drive round the A-roads up to and around Chesham and back, even had a chance to try out my tonneau cover on for the first time (looks ace biggrin)

The most depressing part of today was the 30+ soft top cars; a mixture of roadsters and faster metal (911s, Jag XJs, even a DB9) and not *one* bar a brave BMW Z3 had their roof lowered. There were even a couple of 5's I saw today with the roofs up!

Today was the most ideal top down day we've had in ages, mild temp, bit of sun, clear conditions, lovely stuff. Just makes me sad to see so many nice convertibles essentially "wasted".

Probably just a pointless mini-rant from a newish 5 owner enjoying top-down motoring, but it just frustrates as to why people bother purchasing convertibles if the only day they're going to lower the roof is the one hot, sunny day a year we get in this country :/

Stop worrying about other people and do what you want with your roof!

It was more of a mild disappointment I suppose, rather than a full on rant. Just seems a shame more people don't enjoy the nice days when they come along. smile

Open top motoring isn't open top motoring if you drive around with the windows wound up.
I hope they were only up in the picture for some other reason.

..........Otherwise you are certifiably GAY!

When the temperature is below 0, windows down really starts to take the piss.

You're a braver man than me.

Today my car was assaulted by a some sort of pterodactyl that managed to crap on my bonnet, windscreen and roof while I was travelling at 60mph.

Think about that next time you're out in your convertible.

It could well be that the other drivers had luggage to carry, most soft tops these days have no boot with the roof down which makes them utterly useless if you have to carry anything!

Tbh if you're driving around with a windscreen then you are a total poof.

A flip aero screen makes you bi.

A Land Rover with the windscreen folded onto the bonnet makes you a sexual tyrannosaurus.

MX5 and 911 don't have that problem, not sure about the others or the existence of a convertible XJ though smile
