Good afternoon all, I'm in the unfortunate position that one of my taxis was rolled into a ditch last week. The assessors have decreed it's a CAT B loss.

I have to replace it, and was wondering if some kind soul would give me a fairly accurate valuation please?

Peugeot 407SW 2.0HDI 140 Sport 2009/58 with 80k miles. Metallic paint and satnav/media. Excellent condition (honestly, it was in really beautiful condition pre accident) with no knocks, dings or even scuffs on the wheels. Spotless inside.

I know what it will cost to replace, a quick trawl of Autotrader will do that, but none of the cars on there have the age/mileage combination (understandibly)

I would like to know what they are likely to offer.

Thanks everyone.

I would try using the we buy any car website and use that figure as an absolute minimum. Don't know what it is on here. I asked a similar question last night, I wanted a Glass's trade price for my car and no-one bothered to reply so don't hold your breath!

eek NO NO NO - webuyanycar is not a guide to anything, their valuations are ridiculous - previously they valued a car worth £13-14k at £9k, idiots.

The px link posted above is a better rough guide.

Which means it will sell for closer to £12k, and £9k as a trade value is about right!

For anything run of the mill, WBAC gives between about 10 and 20% below glasses trade, which isn't far off CAP.

When I was working for Citroen, I was offered exactly the same car, but only 8 months old and 8k miles.

The local peugoet dealer underwrote it at £7k, I didnt sell a new C5. frown

Just redone the quote, now offered me £7860 for my 55 plate CLK 320cdi. £13500 is about the median price on Autotrader. Their valuations are tosh.

find the most expensive versions of similar cars on autotrader and use that as ammunition for your argument with the insurance company.

Reject their first offer.

Just had my car valued by these idiots (webuyanycar) just to see what they were offering.
Taking into consideration that I was offered £2800 as trade in only 2 months ago, I was expecting somewhere close to that. They valued it at £1700! Who seriously sells their cars to these muppets?
You would have to be absolutely desperate to sell anything to them.
