Saw ad for the C5 with the funky suspension and the tosser making the screeching noises driving round the twisty!

I reckon Citroen should give their electronic gizmos the ultimate test! Hand the keys and a car over to Pete Humphries and Steve Heath, let them give it a kicking around a track and see how it stands up to that!!!

Apparently they have already done a simiar thing with a renault laguna, i don't know if they have the sames system as citroen but dispite what the driver did (and he was a proper recing driver) the car did not loose control or skid once.

Impressive

I used to have an old Xantia Activa a few years ago. This is the one with the active roll suspension and the 2.0T engine. Cracking drive (for a dull hatch). You wouldnt believe the corners that it would go round..... M11 south to the M25 east bound for example!

It could outhandle most things on the road and kept its composure perfectly. Even on the limit is was simple to control as the tyres would break away with a lot of prior warning.... actually really nice to drive.

But they are not for everyone. Unusual drive style required to get the best out of them and some people feel sick in them. Though it is funny to watch peoples faces when the mobile phone on the dash doesnt slide all over the place when you go round a corner....

Handling limits are better, but NOT up to the standards of a good rear-drive sports car...

Cheers,

Paul

That C5 isn't a very nice looking boxmobile either!
Why was that bloke making the screeching noises on the advert anyway? 'Optional sound effects'. Doesn't the radio work?

Above all though, the advert did what it was designed to do. It stuck in our heads, however stupid the ad may have seemed.

Nice looking road on that ad too!, it would probably be a dream in something a bit sporty!

Actually I'm not so sure, an advert is to try to make us buy a product, if we see "only sad people drive the C5" then it fails. Look at the X220 with Griff Rhys Jones. I know several people taht deliberatly didn't buy a vaxhaul because of their cr@p adverts.

I have already posted my two ha'pennies worth on this dreary motor car and its stupid advert.

Ok, it sticks in my head, but only to remind me not to buy a Citroen.
