Hi,

I've found a car recently on Autotrader which I really like but I'm not too sure about the description, it reads:

"..excellent condition, sadly on V car, drive away, no damage"

I'm not sure what V car is, does anyone know?

The car is advertised about a grand lower than similar cars,

Any help would be appreciated,

Cheers,

Rich

V Car means that the vehicle has been subject to an insurance claim at some stage in it's life. There are various 'grades', ranging from stolen/recovered to a full 'write off'. Check with HPi for more details. Be very careful if you don't know what to look for! This type of purchase is not a bargain; there may be unforeseen expense and you will have to sell it cheaper when you wish to dispose of it.

Tabs,

Thanks for that, I had an idea that the car might have been Hpi recorded, or something like that,

I'm not too bothered about resale value as the car will be kept in the family, I think you're right about being careful, it sounds like it has had a shunt in the past. I'll give the owner a ring and find out what exactly happened to the car,

Cheers,

Rich
