Why is it that its only the new members slaging people off in the forums and then once they have odne this they dont reply again...
and the new members dont bother to fill in there car details whys that cause they have a crap car....
I admit i am a new member but i have recently rejoined as i was a member for ages before.
its just a grumble, it jsut irritates me to see people getting slagged off in the forums and the other people dont come back under taht screen name
or have i just woke up on the wrong side of teh bed today

Sorry ted.. I know i have recently rejoined... adn the majority of new members do provide a good contribution to the furums but there is that small minirity that just annoys me and some other people.
Some people i know are emailing people direct rather than using the furums because to the minority of new members abusing the furums.

That's fine, it's all part of the service. I do moderate the forums so if there are things that offend then just shout and I'll take a look at them.
The forums are a lot busier than they used to be and a more diverse range of topics and vehicles are covered. That in itself will attract a more diverse range of people - some of whom you might disagree with! Isn't that all part of the fun?

Ted, I wonder if there is a way round this "create a new profile to anonymise yourself then start slagging people off" problem.
How about a read-only introductory period for new users for, say, 24 hours?
Obviously some legitimate new users may want to start posting immediately. Is there any way that they could volunteer to be authenticated in some way (TBC) to have their 24 hour read-only status removed?
Mind you, even as I type I see a way round this, as some troublemakers might register an alias in advance, "just in case" and circumvent this anyway.
Ah well, back to the drawingboard.
