Does anyone know how to start Hill climbing?
Whether there are different classes, who to contact, where hill climbs are held, and when.

Check out MPEGs from Pete Humphries and Green V8S. Good to watch and I reckon he may have loads of hill climbing contacts plus top-tips.

Look at the Gurston website, Simon Durling runs a top notch hill climb school (as does Prescott).

Go for it, you'll meet a lot of really nice people and see, hear and smell some fantastically good cars.

Am I biased, you bet I am!!!

Prescott, just outside Cheltenham. Excellent venue and runs beginners courses. Watch out though, the only crash I've seen there was a chap hitting the barriers in his Chimaera last season!

go to prescott, near cheletenham on 4th/5th of May as its a round of the British Hillclimb Championship. They also do a good sprint/hill climb school with ex champs as instructors.

Thanks very much for all the information, The Club Lotus annual show at Donnington is on over the weekend of the 4th/5th of May, and I had planned to go on the Saturday. It now seems that I have the Sunday taken care of as well, a fact finding mission to Prescot Hill climb .

The Association of South West Motor Clubs (ASWMC) is probably your best bet. If you fancy coming further East you can join in with the ACSMC at places like Wiscombe and Goodwood. There are plenty of other regional championships within reach which take you to the well known hillclimb venues (Shelsley, Prescott, Wiscombe etc) in that area.

Further info and contact details for all these regional associations and championships is at www.ukmotorsport.com.

If you fancy mixing it with the TVR crowd, there are plenty of us in the ACSMC and Midlands Speed Championship.

Cheers,
