Why oh why did I think that this film was worth watching?

Its like Max Power mag in real life format, 'orrible.
Terrible acting, cars that sound like lawn mowers ( I mean, a Maxed VW Jetta!), crappy camera angles and just a stupid plot line ergghhhh. What a waste of £3.75.

Still should of known better, Its my fault.

i think the bit with the dodge charger in stereo sound makes up for the rset of the film, you can keep nitrous injections etc but as carroll shelby said " they're aint no substitute for cubic inches!"

Yes the Charger looked wicked, although I was laughing at the way it went round corners it was like a jelly on wheels.

...After watching the film (which I thought was piss poor for cars, ok for mindless action, overall piss poor) my friend decided he wanted to do the full works on his BMW Z3. Says it all really...

totally agree chaps. I watched it on DVD last weekend. To make a bad film even worse, the sound was shagged, so i had to use subtitles. What a pile of typical American toilet. The bit where they drag race the ferrari was quite cool, only spoiled by the ferrari owner having to be a stuck up rich bloke. I'm only surprised he wasnt a typical Hollywood style evil English guy...

Yeah - I wasn't impressed with Fast&Furious at all.. despite Vin Paraffin . . . John Gielgud would have been weeping into his absynthe.. not! LMAO

wasn't as bad as Swordfish though which was the biggest piece of turd I've seen in a long long time.. :-/

It's dreadful - I just fell of the sofa when Travolta asks the other guy to drive and I took the piss, "Gee I can't drive a stick" a second before the lame american said exactly that.. LMFAO

Halle Berry = nice
Tuscan = very nice

But still these are not enough to make up for a dreadful film with a piss poor storyline, dreadful acting and if you're a techy, there's the usual faux hacking exploits that will make you throw your beer at the telly..

And even with a big sub and Dolby 5.1, they still don't get the TVR to sound anything approaching real...

Total waste of time & money..

Anyone else notice how the big school-run stylee 4x4 jobbies filled up with machinegun-toting bad guys were able to easily keep up with the Tuscan?

I used to think TVRs were quite quick but now I'm not so sure... the 4x4 was easily as good at cornering!

Well, it cant be as bad as 'Monsters inc' that I was dragged to by a bird. Fortunately, I'd had a bellyful of curry and beer and was able to sleep through the final hour. Even caught the doris i was with having a nap!

Hold on, Swordfish did have one of the best ever movie explosions, IMHO, at the start. It was quite a way downhill from there though.

I would suggest that anyone into IT fast-forwards to the Tuscan after that because the computer side of stuff is just plain garbage. Flying bus at the end really takes the biscuit.

The flying bus is perhaps the redeeming cherry on the pie of stupidity...

The best film explosion for my money has to be the one at the end of Fight Club..

If you think it's bad watching the fast and the spurious on your telly, imagine what it's like being stuck in the cinema after coughing up a fiver. Grr.

I think I made more toilet stops during that film than any other I've seen.

That self-deploying hi-fi complete with dry ice effect and neon lights really summed the whole film up though. Bet it went down a storm in essex...

Swordfish. I went with a bunch of friends who work for UUNET (as did I, before it went takeover crazy). We all loved the car. We varied in our ability not to sit there muttering "OFFS".

"...go in over the phone lines, pop the firewall..."

Christ-onna-bike. I could make a fortune helping Hollywood make films a *bit* less f**kwitted without ruining the film.

Don't worry too much Steve, I watched it at the weekend and if you get enough inside you it will be fine.
The 'extras' on the DVD are worth a watch too, nearly everyone in it are actual street racers. I spent most of the film thinking 'Nitros in a Cerbie - that'd show 'em'
It was a billion times better the Swordfish and as good IMO as Gone in 60 Seconds.
You have to know though that any 'car' movie with a star whose name is Vin Diesel is going to be a bit ropey

glad you saved me the money.
Tesco are flogging it for 15 quid at the mo'.
Tell me, did the jiggling birds make it any better?

Actually this is something that really annoys me about films - if a film is good, it doesn't need some stupid bint with kit off. If I want to watch a car film, I want it to be about the cars. If I watch a porn film, I don't wanna see cars, or story line! The genres should be kept separate !!!

Well, what do you know, she who must be obeyed went out with the girls the other night so once the kiddies were safely tucked up I finally took Mark's advice, loaded up F&F and settled down with a fridge full of cold ones.

What a silly film Disengage brain and any other critical faculties, just wee yourself laughing from end to end (no I didn't sneak in one off the wrist, interferes with the drinking). Not such a bad birthday pressie after all.

Cheers Mark
