Just had a look at our local Lotus dealers site, as they are also a Noble dealer and I saw their Demo on my way to work this morning...

Anyway... they are selling spangly new Elises for 199 Per Month!!! Thats less than my wifes MINI!! I had no idea you could get deals like that on what is a pretty decent sports car!

Can I assume that the small print will be - Pay only 50% deposit, 30% interest per annum and a lump sum of only the cost of the car at the end of 3 years...Or something like that... I don't think you get that sorta something for nothing..

I have seen this offer, I think it's about £6k down, £199 per month and £12-13K ballon. APR about 8% I believe.

Even with a great car like the Elise, they need a bit of a push to get volumes up.

'HHmmmmm, now £199 per month, that's not much is it darling' ;-)

NEW ELISE from
£199 per month 7.7% APR

Typical Example
Cash Price
Deposit
1 Monthly Repayment
35 Monthly Repayments
1 Final Payment
Total Amount Payable £23,385.00*
£ 6,635.00
£ 249.00
£ 199.00
£12,911.28
£26,805.28
* Cash price of £23,385.00 includes factory delivery, number plate, 12 months road fund licence and 1st registration Fee. Vehicle must be registered by 28th February 2002.

The small print is that you have to sign up by the end of next week.

Still if I was in the market for a new motor this would be tempting...

This offer came about in Nov last year and I looked into it seriously. The deposit at that time was 6635 and this was for the basic car and I mean BASIC, in fact they wouldn't sell you this car there are some options that have to be fitted to activate the warranty(mud flaps and sill protection). Options are added directly to the deposit price. If you have the money for the deposit then it is a great deal with 7.7% APR (you couldn't get a loan for that APR). Back last year this list is what I worked out to be the minimum spec I would live with.
Standard Elise: 23,385
Deposit for above: 6635
-------------
Desired options;
mud flaps 40
Sill protection 30
Colour code mirrors 60
Alarm 295
Radio fit 150
4 Speaker CD 250
Met. paint 595

Sub Tot. 1420
--------------

New deposit 8055

Cash price (otr) 24805

Total amount payable 28225.28

Never did go through with the deal because insurance would have added another £2500 to the initial outlay and this was going to stretch me a bit too far.

I forgot to mention that this offer, back then, was supposed to end on the 6th Jan 2002 (or there about). So, I wouldn't worry about the new deadline it'll probably be extended. If you're tempted go for it - Kings Lotus in Leamington Spa were very helpful when I enquired.

Do they do a similar offer for S1/Exige?
