I suppose there are quite a few pistonheads who still play computer games, and definitely plenty of crumblies who remember (if not still play) grand prix legends.
Anyway, I suppose this is at least half way relevant:
In my opinion, most racing games are tat, with the obvious exception of GPL - but someone was playing this game [rally trophy] at work using the keyboard and mouse, and you really should've seen my jaw drop. I went to a dixons superstore on the way home and bought a geforce3 , a microsoft steering wheel and a copy of the game
I haven't stopped grinning yet. I probably even slept with a big cheesy grin last night. Ahem.
There's nothing quite as nice as driving a beat-up mk1 cortina sideways at seventy miles an hour and checking out the 300' long cloud of dust you kicked up
Unless it's driving a fiat 600 / lancia fulvia/ cooper s / escort rs2000 sideways at 70mph.
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Name of the post, 'rally trophy'.
Sorry about the PR pish n' nonsense
The undersigned is in no way affiliated with the distributors of 'Rally Trophy', nor is the undersigned sleeping with the producer of said software or any members of the aforementioned producers family.
Tom.
This is a fantastic game, it's almost worth the 400 odd quid I (impulsively ) spent just to play it -
Should be called grand prix legends rally.

How does it compare to Colin Mcrae 2 and Rally championship? Both excellent games.
Anyway cheeky I recently bought a momo FF steering wheel for grand prix legends which I have played and still play for a good many years.
If you're into GPL then have a look at the downloads that are available better graphics, sounds and more tracks you can wave a zimmer frame at

Ahh, finally the GPL crumbly cronies are crawling out of the woodwork...
edit >> okay, just knocked up a website, take a look:

It's much more of a sim than mcrae 2, and the cars are far more interesting than those in mobil1.
Driving classic RWD cars on loose gravel / mud / snow is incredibly challenging, and loads of fun.
Welcome to the world of constant oversteer
