I did one two years ago with the Mallory bunch. It is a fantastic experience. Back then it was only £600 now it's over double that.....
If you don't know the track it's well worth going there and getting some time in first so that you don't waste any of your day learning it.
Our day went -
Golf GTi passenger round track
Elise/Porsche/E-Type
Formula Ford
Formula Vauxhall Lotus
Formula One
Formula One was obviously stunning with a serious Judd engine in there. Only minor gripes were that they told you which gear to use (which was naturally far too high), ignore that and drop a gear or two to keep the thing on song. Other gripe was the traffic, with set passing places on the track laps could be ruined by an unware slower car.
About the only place you'll come to grief is if you floor it on the apex (which I tried), the diff locks and all that power is doing it's best to donut the car. One person smashed one on our day, I just shit one didn't feed it as voilently next lap
Well worth a go though, in the short amount of time you're in the car it's nowhere near long enough to get acclimatised and put in quick laps, however, you do get to put your foot down (how can they stop you?) and experience what 550bhp+ in a single seater feels like.
Do it, but buy one for yourself as well.....
Graeme.
