As this site is dominated by RWD sports car fans I don't know how popular BTCC will be but I was wondering if anybody had any info on the 2002 championship, ie:

What cars/ teams wil be entering (especially super touring class).

If it is going to be the Vauxhall Astra exhibition championship I probably won't waste my money.

I used to be a huge fan of BTCC. Some of the racing is quite good these days, but they really should get some decent sized saloons into it rather than the little coupes.

I heard that the BBC isn't covering it this year, hopefully Ch4 might take it up and do a WRC on it.

When BBC could be bothered to schedule it I actually liked their presenters/commentators. I think TOCA ditched BBC because TOCA are wanting live coverage and/or gauranteed slots for comprehensive highlights.

C4 should do a WRC for it. Live races could easily fit into their Sunday schedule with Footy Italia possibly sandwiched between races.

might be worth watching for Andy Priaulx in the Honda. I've been a fan of his since his hillclimbing days and he always goes 100%.

BTCC used to be great to watch, but I took my sons to Thruxton last season to watch it and it was so boring - just a parade of Astra Coupes followed by the odd Peugeot (I got so bored I went for a cup of tea).

There was none of the nudging and close competitiveness (sp?) of earlier years - come back Nige and Tiff - which is a shame cos it used to be good to see racing that you could identify with road cars.

What about the 'Super Weekenders' starting at Silverstone. Touring cars, F3, GT, TVR Tuscans, Porsche Cup (zzzzzzzzzz....) and mini's. How much excitement do you need?
