What's the worst engine noise you've heard?
Discussion
After the post of best engine noise, what about the worst?? I had a 1.3litre Toyota corolla with a four pot that sounded like a singer sewing machine. When you put your foot down all you got was embarrassed. Also, I was behind an Aprilia 'motorbike' this morning that sounded really cr@ppy. High pitched bunch of @rse! Oh yeah, and Happy Christmas to one and all...
Amongst many;
1. A Cerbera 4.2 with bust crank.
2. Our old Leyland Daf, 3.5 ton truck. Drove it from Cannock to Canterbury & back and had to stop nr Oxford on the way back because my head was throbbing so much. The engines (like the post office vans) sound like a bag of knackers.
3. Most modern Porsches sound crap because they're so over-silenced.

1.My Supra when the manifold came away from the head.(Awful blowing noise from under the bonnet).
2.Then after I had new gaskets fitted by Toyota (£230)and it came away again.
3.After I had the Head Helicoiled (£700) and it came away again.
Toyota have now fitted a different bolt and it seems to have worked.

My old Cortina Mk 1 with Rover V8 - it had been running for about 2 mins then BANG !
Checked the engine and the piston was hanging out the side of the block.
It sure took a lot of poly filler to fill the gap left by that piston.
Still I understand the new owner was well chuffed with his V7 Cortina.
