How do I remove moss-like green stuff from window rubbers?

I have green stuff growing on my window rubbers, thanks to the fact that my car sits in a damp, shaded spot. ASDA mould and milldew remover does a champion job of removing milldew from the bathroom tile grouting (and curry stains from white shirts!) but I wouldn't risk using it on the car as it might bleach the paint!! Is there a product on the market specifically for dealing with this problem or do folks know of another solution?

Hot soapy water, a cloth and alot of scrubbing always works on the Rangie and that sits around doing very little most of the week. Once you've got it, it seems to return quite quickly though

Yeah, I've noticed that having had a less severe case of it before and cleaned it off. Perhaps new window rubbers all round is the answer... which also means a new back window I'm planning to move in the next year and when I do the car will get an extensive cosmetic overhaul. No point doing it now as it'll give the local nob-heads a blank canvass to make their mark on, but once I'm relocated eight years of collective chav-damage will be wiped-out in one wallet-thrashing refurb-fest!

A thorough going over with a pressure washer cleans them up a treat.

I use Mr Muscle Orange Action on all of my bits like that and it works wonders! £2.50 from Sainsburys.

use a toothbrush an old one preferably or the wifes .

Once you have cleaned the dam green stuff off, give the rubber a good coating with glycerine. It stops the rubber from cracking and keeps it looking brand new.

I can safely say that a visit to your local garage pressure washer will get rid of this green muck. Make sure the windows are all very tightly shut and make sure the water is very hot (steam prefferably), you may wish to purchase some 'Muck Off' from any good Halfrauds outlet or Bikeshop (as it is effectively 'TFR' - Traffic Film Remover), spray the seals with Muck Off (or TFR if you can get hold of it through the trade) and leave it to soak for a few mins, then crack on with the steam cleaner/pressure washer concentrating the 'jet' on the effected areas.

Caution - DO NOT LEAVE TFR OR MUCK OFF ON THE PAINT OR RUBBERS FOR TOO LONG AS IT WILL STREAK THE RUBBERS IF YOU DO, LIKEWISE, IT WILL ALSO TARNISH THE PAINTWORK OVER A PRELONGED PERIOD. ALSO, DO NOT USE TFR OR MUCK OFF IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT OR ON HOT BODYWORK/ALLOYS AS IT WILL DRY STREAKY WHICH WILL THEN RESULT IN HOURS OF HARD POLISHING!

Tip - Treat the rubbers with a plastic/rubber treatment gel or spray afterwards and they will come up like new!

Best stuff thing ever is Tescos jet wash, did mine last night, got rid of every last bit!

Is orange action illegal ( a bit like Muffin the Mule!)?

Dettol and Mildew cleaner mixed 3to1, toothbrush, then rinse off and apply back to black or glyceryl type to keep soft.
