How much power can you put down on the road?

I found a previous thread on PH about how much bhp is enough. My question is different... in UK conditions and within the law... how much power can you actually use or do you actually need?

A bit like that real world race in TG with the super cars vs the old banger. In real world conditions how it made no difference.

Is 200 hp enough and in reality many of us won’t be able to put down more than that in real world UK driving? Looking for a fuller response than the TG race if that makes sense.
