For many years, I have had much of my book collection stored out of sight due to lack of space, tucked away in cupboards, the loft etc, so last month I decided to do something about it
I went to Ikea and bought three bookshelves, so now many books have seen the first light of day for years.
My collection. (Many which have come from charity shops) are broadly divided into:-
Second world war, Football, Biographies, Fellwalking, Rock music, Cars & Motorcycle and railways.

I could post a picture of a Kindle but that wouldn't be in the spirit of the thread. Had a great time donating or binning all my books about 10 years ago. Some are still in the GP Surgery.
Some mighty collections on display and I've noticed only Wacky Racer has realised that white bookcases look a lot more sleek and show the books off to their full potential.

I’m in the process of emptying my bookcases and boxing the books to give to charity shops. Forty odd years of collecting hobby, interest and travel books that I now very seldom look at
I've been gathering bookshelves as they pop up for free on local Facebook groups, I now have so many that I can't get any more in the house, but I've also thought about starting to box up some of the books and put them away. I don't think I could get rid, even though I have many that aren't looked at. I'm not putting a photo up because of all the other random clutter that makes it look like I'm ten minutes from phoning Stacey Solomon. sparkythecat said:

Sold loads through numerous apps, those companies even pay for the postage. Some are worth quite a few quid, some are pennies. Sad to bin them. For a while I favoured my local pine furniture maker but since moving here, I hunt out old bookcases. Even had to have a couple of shelves made by a friend, too.
Mainly history, military history, music, stereoscopy, old photography, TV and Film, football and my old 2000AD and the Far Side stuff. My wife does insist on putting ornaments on the bookcases too; not a fan!

Not counting a couple of others just because the other room is a mess currently.

I accept that challenge My 11 bookcases of Car books (this is a car forum after all), Art, Photography, Movies, Armour and Architecture (and Lego).
At least 95% hardbacks, just over 1000 books. Not in the photos are about 6 stacks lying on the floor, so looking to sell some lesser books to make way for new ones.
Yes, I know I have a problem...
