Bit of a cross post with the TV pages but:
Made about 10 year ago, shown on Sky Arts a day or so ago and close to 3 hours long (inc ads).
I have to say I read Catcher about 40 year ago and didn't find it that interesting at the time but seeing what he experienced, from the D Day landings, through the horrors of the piles of corpses and burnt bodies of the Camps and the interrogation of Nazis after the war.
He was a mentally damaged guy, no doubt about it, not crazy though as one Editor suggested. A prolific author of books other than Catcher and I feel in many ways angry and upset at the way that book was received by certain people including Mark Chapman who killed Lennon.
