I enjoyed I am Pilgrim by Terry Hayes. I gets mixed reviews on Amazon though.

Okay it wasn't published this year but I've just read it again for the nth time and I'd say The Eagle Has Landed is among the best action/thrillers of all time.
Don't think it matters particularly whether you're into the Second World War or not, it's utterly gripping from start to finish.

Been a while but I really like the Eagle series by Simon Scarrow.
It follows the story of two men in a Roman Legion and the adventures and battles they get into.
My dad was a big Jack Reacher fan and I lent him my Eagle books and he got hooked.
