Hi All,

Bit of a long shot this one but hoping someone had the same book I had when I was a nipper. Trying to find a copy but my memory is a bit vague!

I’m 34 and I reckon I was about 6 so that would take us to about 1991/1992 ish...

Cars I remember in it are a hideous White Merc 1000 SEC with Gullwing doors, a wedge supercar which may have been a Vector, Porsche 959, An extravagant kit car (maybe) that looked a bit like one of those wedding car kits.

Hoping this might ring a few bells as I want to buy the book to settle a very long dispute with a brother!

Thanks

The title definitely rings a bell but I’m sure it was in a black cover. Perhaps there was different versions.

I’ll buy it anyway - many thanks

Googled it and found some images of inside. Definitely the right one - amazing some of the images that stick in your head. That incredible Mazda with a Knight Rider style steering wheel was a favourite.

It’s taken me right back to lying on my bedroom floor poring over every detail of the red interior of the Quasar - it even had a telly in it! Amazing.

I think there were different covers, the one I have was sold via St Michael and had a 288 GTO on the cover and the hard back was in white. First edition was published in 1986.
As a person with no taste I always loved the Sbarro Gullwing Merc, the Rinspeed and the Koenig cars and as a boy use to pop into Chameleon Cars on Park lane where they had the 1000 SEL with Gold-plated grill, wheels etc, the Tornado, Range Rovers with chopped roofs.........

I've got this too - the 1986 edition. Faves for me were the Sbarro VW Golf, the Challenge (though not so much now), the Ferrari GTO and the Peugeot Quasar.

I had the same book, Christmas present from Mark's and sparks. There were a few covers, my friend had a slightly different dust jacket. I seem to remember a mk2 golf with a hinged chassis in there and a few wild 928's. Will have to get a copy.
