Ive always been an avid reader, but the last year or so i've dived into the world of podcasts.
So far my favourites are:
Casefile- theres something very fascinating listening to the horrors that go on around the world, and the twisted minds of the killers
Dan Carlin's Hardcore History- Im a history nerd so listening about pretty much every era in Dan's wonderful story telling voice is a pleasure
Joe Rogan- the variation of guests he has on the podcast make this one interesting for all sorts of people
What are some of your favourite podcasts, im eager to branch out and try something new.

Tumanbay- been called radios game of thrones, very well written 3 seasons so far based around the middle east I guess
party- very funny 20 somethings set up a political party very well written

here's a few from my subscriptions - long commute
The puppet master - BBC
The dark money files - finance fraud
CaseFile - true crime - the best I reckon
They walk among us - UK true crime
Red handed - True crime
Adrift - Geoff + Anabel formally absolute radio
Dr Death - compelling
Blackout - end of world - good but littered with ads...
Dirty John - intriguing but unsettling
Last Days of August - Jon Ronson
Teachers Pet - runs on too long but still good
Serial - the original
That was then - BBC drama
Death in Ice Valley - superb
Outlines - UK crime, very well put together but now on hiatus

I've just subscribed to a couple of the above.

Missed Apex
BBC Chequered Flag
Some crime based ones...
Men's Rea
Red Handed
Sword and Scale
Darknet Diaries - a good one on hacking
Bloody Murder
Normal (ish) ones...
The Modern Mann
BBC Witness
The Inquiry

Conspiracy Theories on Parcast have been very interesting.
The two hosts are not conspiracy theorists but look at well known events, analyze the various theories and try to get the truth.
What I've found most interesting is that the two part episodes deal with the actual history behind events and I've learnt much.
The Cuban Missile Crisis blamed America for it's own short sightedness and Operation Northwoods was quite fascinating.
Recommended.

Love a good podcast!
Scroobius Pips Distraction Pieces is always very good, great variety of guests and subjects.
I'm a big fan of the australian Sanspants Radio network, they put out some brilliant ones, D&D is for nerds, Plumbing the Death Star and Shut Up a Second being favourites.
Angel of Vine is/was a good fictional crime drama, with a star studded voice cast.
Finding Drago is a great podcast that delves into fan-fiction.
The Art of Manliness has some great episodes as well.

My Dad Wrote a Porno - As per the title, three good friends read aloud the most appalling 'erotic fiction'. Very funny and perfect for spontaneous outbursts in public. Now a big deal, picked up by HBO etc.
Athletico Mince - Bob Mortimer & Andy Dawson. Basically Bob Mortimer on top form talking nonsense, acting out stupid made up (and non made up!) characters. Brilliant. Edited to add a link to Adrian Lewis in The Slaughter House (NSFW!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBIklO7796Y
Limetown - A fictional story about a podcast journalist investigating 'an incident' that happen a decade or so ago. Described as X Files meets Serial (mentioned earlier). Season 1 very good. I really liked Season 2 as well but it got mixed reviews.
Adam Buxton - Rambling chats with various people about nothing in particular, but gives you an insight into what the guests are really like. The Louis Theroux ones are good as they were friends at school so very open and enjoyable. Bob Mortimer is good, as is Michael Palin, Sarah Pascoe and Rob Brydon. Basically pick somebody you've heard of and give it a go. Skip the annoying intros and surreal music half way through.
Teacher's Pet - agree with the above comments, but definitely worth a listen.
I'm going to have to ry out some of the other recommendations on here. Haven't heard of some of them.

Bletchley park, home of the code breakers.
What really happened behind the scenes at the code breaker place. Some insights as well that had knock on effects through the cold war.
They ran a twitter feed on D Day as the intercepts were taken in on the day. That is all the German stuff, ships sighted, need instructions etc.

A couple of my favourites
Criminal: true crime stories where thy often interview a key person or persons involved in the case. Some pretty unbelievable stuff.
Ear Hustle: Set in a US prison, real prisoners talking about what life is like inside. Fascinating.
My commute is about half an hour so these are ideal about 30 mins an episode. Tied a couple of Joe Rogan podcasts but i don't have the patience to listen for 3+ hours.
