Looking for a Recommendation
Discussion
Doing some family history research I have discovered my great-uncle was with 1st btn K.O.Y.L.I throughout the war rising to the rank of Serjeant before sadly being KIA on the 1/5/45 in the village of Potrau, near Hamburg
I have also discovered that the unit was involved in Operation Husky (the invasion of Sicily) and that he was wounded in action there on the 13th July 1943, near the viallage of Villasmundo.
I'm looking for recommendations of any books which would give a better insight into either Operation Husky (British involvement not US or Canadian) or the battle for Northern Germany in the last days of the war.
