This may not be the best forum, though I suspect ebooks will be more relevant here than in the gadgets fora; mods move if you feel inappropriate.

I am learning Spanish. Primary school books are ok for the grammar etc but not very interesting reads - as anyone who has done the Oxford Reading Tree with their kids (x3 for me some years ago) will know.

After watching Narcos I bought a paperback copy of "Pablo Escobar, el patron del mal" in Spanish from Amazon UK; great because I can annotate it. I'd like to have it on my Kindle partly for portability but especially so that I can instantly look up words I don't know. The Kindle version is not available in Spanish in the UK, but is available on amazon.es - but not to me when I log in. They tell me either to buy from the UK site (where is isn't listed) or, if I've changed my country, to let them know. Perhaps they've implemented Brexit already (best not get into that thread drift nono). I'm wondering about a temporary (minutes) change of country. Any thoughts?

ETA - I know I could get other books - my wife read Don Quixote in Spanish and I read it simultaneously in English a few years ago - it is funny and fine, but a lot of the language is archaic and a bit convoluted for a learner.

ETA2 - looking on the Amazon uk fora it looks as if this is a common problem due to publishing rules but hay un monton de libros en español para comprar o gratis en el sitio de Amazon.uk so I think I'll stick with the paper copy and download some others for the Kindle.. PS if anyone wants a useful, free pop-up on highlighted words Spanish-English dictionary for the Kindle try Googling "evilgenius spanish dictionary" - he's made one and provides a link to a different one for more recent Kindles.

Done it a few times as my, US based, company gifted me a $50 Amazon voucher that only works on the US site.

Buying Kindle books made the most sense (otherwise I'd have spent most of it on postage!) and has posed no problems (although books aren't always cheaper there, I was surprised to find).
