Foreign Legion in Indo China

Some years ago I read a fascinating book about an American soldier who was seconded to the FFL in Indo China but for the life of me, I can't recall the title.

Not sure if he was a marine or "ordinary" soldier.....can anybody please help?

Was the soldier definitely American?. There's a book called Devils Guard about a German soldier going over to Indo China with the FFL, written by George Robert Elford.

I too have read this, good book from the outset but I do believe that the old saying 'never let the truth get in the way of a good story' applies to this book.

I think quite a bit is fabricated.

Non the less a good read!
