Top Gear Dream Cars, The Hot 100
Discussion
WH Smith are currently selling this hardback book at £6 a pop so decided to get one as it has all the new hypercars in it. Upon flicking through the pages it however became apparent that this book is a bit at odds with itself. For instance why would a Fiat 500, Golf GTi or 3rd Gen Civic Type R be included alongside the expected P1, LaFerrari and Porsche 918. They might be desirable to someone on a much lower budget but they are lukewarm cars at best.
Along with the well shot photo's there are some nice descriptions about each car. Particularly enjoyed reading about the BAC Mono, Pagani Huayra and of course previously mentioned fantasy vehicles. It was a little different in that they didnt list them from 100 down to 1, but rather grouped them into British, German, Italian, American and rest of the world categories. I imagine it would have been hard to decide where each car would have fit otherwise!
Well worth a purchase as a coffee table or reading on the throne book, especially at this price.

How about 1001 cars, grouped by era? https://www.amazon.co.uk/1001-Cars-Dream-Driving-B...
Disclaimer; I wrote a large chunk of it.
Are you Nick Mason?!? Wow! Can you get me Dave Gilmour's autograph?Disclaimer; I wrote a large chunk of it.
All joking (cough) aside, how do you come up with the top 1001 cars (or 1001 anything*). I don't think I could *name* 1001 cars!
- Especially 1001 places to see before you die. I'm lucky if I make it to the shops once a week. How on earth am I ever going to visit 1001 places?
