Anyone got this yet? I'm intrigued, but Porter's previous book (50 greatest cockups or something) had some lacklustre reviews about it being a bit tedious.

Finished this yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it, worthwhile read for any top gear fan. There's plenty of amusing stories and I found the insight into the presenters and how they made the program itself was interesting as well.
Also nice to see Porter admitting a few mistakes along the way (India special...), although I suppose it's easier to say certain things didn't work with the benefit of hindsight and a few years worth of public opinion. Definitely recommend it though, the Schumacher chapter in particular I enjoyed, along with the dwarf in a suitcase

I bought this and read it very quickly
Very enjoyable book, I bought it expecting an interesting behind the scenes look at the Top Gear years, which it was, but what I wasn't expecting was for it to be laugh out loud funny. I guess I shouldn't be surprised seeing as the bloke who wrote it wrote half of Top Gear, but yes, it's very well written. I think I'm going to end up buying several copies to get various people for Christmas
