Summer holidays soon and whilst Lady B is content to lie by a pool all day I'm not. I'm not a reader at all but find Biographies interesting, have tended to stick to Sports stars generally but no idea why as I'm not a big sports fan!

Recommendations please, sports and otherwise.

Thanks

Best sports bio I have read is Touching Distance - James Cracknell and Beverly Turner.

Very funny to beginning with, then turns very serious and quite heart-breaking.

Definitely one to try.

It's a bit specific, but it is sport, and it's very well written: Tears of the Dawn by Jules Lines. He's an outstandingly able and ballsy British climber who's also able to put pen to paper effortlessly and runs his own publishing house. If you like the outdoors as well then it's worth a go. I'm just about finished it and have barely put it down but then again, I am a climber so I probably find it more interesting than a non-climber, but then again maybe not.

I have just bought Guy Martins, I'm saving it for my holiday, first time I have ever bought a book for this purpose.
