Similar situation (though I've found myself having to alleviate boredom for the day rather than a couple of hours)
I've been listening to Richard Herring's Leicester Square Theatre podcast, and Steven King's The Dark Tower on audiobook. The Infinite Monkey Cage podcast is fairly decent too.

Never tried audio books but the Radio 4 Friday Night Comedy podcast is a good start, usually the News Quiz or The Now Show
If you're in to sciencey stuff then some of my favourites are:
- The Life Scientific, Jim Alkelili interviews someone interesting
- Little Atoms, interviews with authors about science related books.
- The Infinite Monkey Cage, panel/discussion show hosted by Robin Ince and Brian Cox, mix of funny and interesting stuff.
