Was recommended this by the chappy in Waterstones when I was due to catch an overnight ferry.

My brief to him was
I like Sci-Fi and especially apocalyptic style stories.

By god this hit the nail on the head, its aprt of a trilogy of which the last book hasn’t been published yet, but it had me absolutely hooked.

Thoroughly recommended

I liked it. Wasn't as enthralled by the second book, hoping the third is a return to form.

It's an utterly brilliant book.
One of the best opening few chapters i've come across - my initial thought was "WTF just happened".

The Twelve is rubbish in comparison though. Very disjointed.

Completely agree, I read them a couple of years apart and found it difficult to get into The Twelve. I believe the third instalment is out next year.

I'm now half way through City of Mirrors and it's a brilliant read so far - much, much better than The Twelve.

I'm 9% through The Passage, I keep falling asleep.

Does the pace get any better?
